One of my favorite quotes-"You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don't make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off you."
Maya Angelou

As a small child books were always around me. I remember my mother reading to me every night before bed. I would lay there with my eyes closed and imagine myself as the main character of the book. For as long as I can remember, I have loved to read and to write short stories and poetry. I realized then, that reading was a way to take me to far away lands without leaving my home.

This love of books has carried with me my entire life. Sounds strange, but I love everything about books. I love the way the pages turn, taking you on yet another journey. The way the covers give you a sneak peek of what's in store on the inside. Most of all, I love to see how authors use their imaginations to create works of art. This is very inspring to me.

I began writing this book three years ago. My daughter was three years old and a handful! I began writing in a spiral notebook by hand every chance I got. Then I moved and the notebook was lost. I was devastated. Finally,a year later I decided to start over. I could only remember some of what I wrote, so I started with a clean slate on my new laptop. No spiral, no notes. Nothing. I wrote this book straight from my imagination. Everytime I turned on the computer, I would re-read my last few paragraphs and start typing. It was exhilirating how the characters and events came to me out of nowhere.

I looked up a year later and I had a completed novel. God is good. I am so blessed! It's funny, when you are doing something you love it doesn't seem like work. I enjoyed every single moment and I will continue to create novels that are interesting, inspiring and full of excitement.

For years, my family would tell me I should write. I started with greeting cards and that went nowhere. Then inspirational postcards. Another dead end. I figured it just wasn't for me, even though I had a desire to be an author. I did all sorts of creative activities and shied away from writing. Fear I believe was my biggest nemesis.  I decided not to be afraid! To get into the game and give it my best.I am glad I did. God bless you all.
